VJ and Crossley pistons out.
Both the VJ and Crossley SE126 have been standing for 30+ years so removal of the pistons was always going to be a possible problem.
In fact, both have come out relatively easily - just a 20 ton jack and some packings.
The Crossley piston was very tight towards the end and the jack was just starting to struggle but once out is was obvious that it was the treacle like gunge causing the problem rather than rust.
The bore is in good order, despite the nest at the top, and will clean up easily. A nice big 14lb sledge for scale.
The VJ single was a lot easier and popped out quite nicely. Both piston and bore are in good condition and will clean up nicely.
