Internal Fire Well deserved award for Noel Meeke.

(From the "Waterworks" magazine that arrived today)

Noel Meeke, Chairman of the Waterworks Museum at Hereford was awarded an MBE in the New Years Honours list "for voluntary service to the Herefordshire Waterworks Museum". On hearing the news of the award, Noel said that he was totally surprised and overwhelmed. He made it clear that in receiving the award he was doing so on behalf of the museum as a whole. Without the total volunteer effort, year after year, the Waterworks Museum would simply be a collection of passive machinery. The volunteers make it come alive to the delight of many visitors and the education of local school pupils.

Everyone here at the museum would like to send their congratulations for the well deserved recognition.

A well deserved award. I've visited several times and it is a wonderful place - there's some video of some of their engines here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=l9Ac7Th8s2c Regards, Dan
